During this lunch and learn we will review the prevalence of nicotine use among pregnant and postpartum persons. We’ll also take a look at how tobacco and nicotine use impacts those living with mental health and substance use issues, who are also pregnant persons. At the end of the webinar, we’ll share strategies and resources available to help people quit.
Learning Objectives
- Explain how nicotine and tobacco use impacts those with behavioral health and/or substance use issues
- Understand the risk and safety factors among pregnant individuals with co-occurring MH challenges and tobacco use disorder
- Understand the resources and programs available to assist providers as they work with clients ready to quit nicotine
- Identify strategies that can assist individuals in overcoming key barriers
