This course is designed to help providers in many different practice areas learn evidence-based strategies for preventing prenatal alcohol exposure.
Recommended for: Primary care providers, nurses, social workers, peer recovery coaches, community health workers, any professional that encounters individuals of childbearing age.
Topics include: Understanding the basics of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, brain development, prevention methods, understanding risk factors, SBIRT, stigma, and connecting patients to community resources
After completing the program, providers will receive a certificate that declares them a FASD-Knowledgeable Provider and the opportunity to be included on an interactive, web-based map for those looking for FASD resources. With the Prenatal Substance Exposure Endorsement program, we hope to connect with providers looking to grow their awareness and education, increase diagnostic capacity around the state, and create a team of dedicated individuals to serve the needs of the FASD community.
